Shipping Container Waterproofing for Waste Water

Recently, we waterproofed a shipping container that is being used as part of a waster water treatment system for a large juice manufacturer in Southern California.

Due to the weight of the water the shipping container had to be reinforced with steel cross members.  The floor was also reinforced.  We then prepped the entire container by using Universal UG in conjunction with the reinforcement cloth on all seams & transitions.  We then sprayed Universal IG liquid rubber on the whole surface of the container.

Swamp / Evaporative Cooler Pan Repair Customer Photos

A big THANK YOU to Todd D. from Fort Collins Colorado for providing us with the below photos of his swamp cooler pan repair with Rubberizeit!™ PG, UG & Reinforceit!™ Cloth.

Depending on the condition of your cooler, it’s really a simple process.

  1. Knock off surface rust with a wire brush
  2. Remove / vacuum any loose debris
  3. Apply primer coat of PG
  4. Fix holes with Reinforceit!™ cloth in combination with rubber
  5. 2-3 additional generous coats of Rubberizeit!™ UG
  6. Let cure & you’re finished.

Rubberizeit!™ is designed to be directly applied to rusty metal – and has an adhesion pull of strength of of 127PSI to flash rust.  In addition, when applied at 60mil thickness (typically 3 generous coats of UG), because of it’s self healing characteristics – it doesn’t pin-hole like polyurethane type products do.  What does this mean? ::: when a coating pin-holes it starts to allow oxygen and H2O to gain access to the metal beneath and restarts the corrosion process – this isn’t seen until much later when the coating starts bubbling from the rust beneath.

In addition, Rubberizeit!™ is a single part water-based liquid rubber that has hardly any fumes – it’s safe & simple to use!

Dual Component Pressure Pot Application System for Liquid Rubber

For Immediate Release:  February 9th, 2012
Hood River, Oregon

Dual Component Pressure Pot Applicator for Liquid Rubber

Dual Component Pressure Pot Applicator

In response to customer demands; Rubberizeit!™ has released the newest addition to the Liquid Rubber family of products – the Dual Component Pressure Pot Application System.  Keeping in line with the core value of Making Waterproofing Affordable – the new dual component system gives property managers, agriculture maintenance and small “repair focused” contractors a lower cost point Liquid Rubber IG application system.  In the past, the only way to “spray” apply Liquid Rubber IG was with the dual component pump system – which costs significantly more.

Rubberizeit!™ Liquid Rubber comes in two grades:  IG & UG – both grades can be roller or brush applied.  However, only the IG can be applied with either the pump or pressure pot system.  By applying Liquid Rubber IG with either dual component system – drying & cure times are significantly reduced and the rubber membrane is “tack” dry within 30 seconds of application.  It is also easier to maintain a consistent thickness during the application process.

The Dual Component Pressure Pot System consists of two pressure pots; one is large enough for a full five gallon bucket of Liquid Rubber IG, while the other holds the Accelerateit!™ catalyst.  Both materials are eco-friendly, contain zero VOC’s and are non-toxic.  In addition, the Liquid Rubber IG is UV Stable (tested to maintain it’s characteristics for up to 25 years) and suitable as a pond / water-feature liner.

Plywood Aquarium Build Water-Proofed with Rubberizeit!™ Liquid Rubber

Until recently we haven’t been recommending our Rubberizeit! for water-proofing plywood aquariums.  You see, Liquid Rubber doesn’t adhere well to glass or silicone.  We feel this is because the non-porous nature of the two materials does not allow the water to properly evaporate out of the material.  While resin, fiberglass, concrete, wood and other substrates Rubberizeit!™ creates an extremely strong bond – this is due to their porous (no matter how small).

Well, we’re happy to let you know – the problem has now been solved and the pictures with-in the below video help detail how to seal around the viewing pane to make sure it is both secure and water-tight.
